Biblical Truths Concerning Israel, Zion’s remnant, and their Promised Land

God’s word to Israel promising Israel the land of Canaan is an Everlasting Covenant. (Genesis 12:7, 13:15,17:8; 24:7, 26:4, 28:13, 35:12, 48:4; 1 Chronicles 16:13-17; Ezekiel 45:1-8, 47:13-48:35)

This land has a specific footprint to be divided among specific Israelites. (Numbers 34-35:8) Israel’s possession of the land is conditional upon her repentant obedience to the Lord. (Leviticus 26-27, 34; Deuteronomy 4:25-27)

Israel once possessed the land as promised around 1390 B.C. (Joshua 21:43)

Solomon’s apostasy caused God to take the rule of all the tribes of Israel except Judah from his son, Rehoboam. (1 Kings 11:9-12:20) The remaining 10 tribes of Israel were given to Jeroboam to rule. (1 Kings 11:31-35)

These 10 tribes or children of Israel dwelt in Samaria under Jeroboam until they were taken to Assyria because of their idolatry. (2 Kings 17:7-24)

The 10 tribes of Israel were identified with Ephraim after Ephraim departed from Judah when the kingdom of Israel was divided. (Isaiah 7:1-17; 11:13; Jeremiah 7:1-15; 31:9, 17-20; Ezekiel 37:16-19; Hosea 7)

Ephraim was blessed by Jacob and promised that his descendants would become a “multitude of nations” or the “fullness of the nations“.

The “fullness of the nations” can mean Gentile nations. (Genesis 48:18-19; Amos 9:9 )

God scattered Israel throughout the world as a judgment for rejecting his Law; but promised to save and honor his covenant with them if they returned to him. (Deuteronomy 4:23-31; 28:58-67; I Kings 14:15; Nehemiah 1:8-9; Ezekiel 5-6)

While scattered, Israel was to take root and live peacable, obedient lives until God brought them back to the promised land. (Jeremiah 29:4-7)

As a long term consequence of this rejection of God’s Law, Jesus taught that Israel will be under attack by foreign powers until He returns. (Luke 21:24)

These attacks against Israel will intensify in the last days known as the time of Jacob’s trouble. (Jeremiah 30:7; Zechariah 12:2-4)

This painful period of travailing eventually culminates in the gathering of the remnant of Israel to the Lord Jesus Christ in the promised land of Israel as he returns to conquer Israel’s heathen enemies and establish his kingdom. (Micah 4:6-5:15; Amos 9:8-15; Joel 2-3; Obadiah 15-21)

Prior to this gathering of the remnant to the returning Christ in Zion, Antichrist will strengthen or confirms an already existing peace covenant between Israel and other nations for the final 7 years. (Daniel 9:26-27)

After about 3 1/2 years, Antichrist breaks this covenant with Israel and goes into “perdition” or a destructive military campaign. This 3 ½ year campaign culminates in the placement of armed forces; the abomination that maketh desolate, under antichrist’s command. These forces surround Jerusalem. (Revelation 11:2; Luke 21:20-24; Matthew 24:15-22; Mark 13:14-20)

God’s righteous, indignant wrath will be upon many in the land of Israel during this time because of their idolatry, greed and unjust, violent bloodshed. (Ezekiel 6-7; Micah 7)

Amos 9: 8-11 indicates that all the proud sinner’s of God’s people Israel shall die in war according to Ezekiel 5-6 possibly 2/3rd’s of Israel will die in judgment, while a remnant of 1/3rd will remember the Lord. The scattered remnant of Israel and Judah, whom God will bring back to the land, insure that Israel will never be wiped off the map as Sodom and Gomorrah were. (Isaiah 1:9; Ezekiel 6:8; Jeremiah 30-31)

The House of Israel (Ephraim) and House of Judah or David are the two sticks or two houses or families of the Israel of God; the commonwealth of Israel, from which Israel’s returning remnant will be preserved. (Ezekiel 37:15-28; Jeremiah 13:12, 31:27, 31; Jeremiah 30:3-11, Jeremiah 33; Zechariah 8:13; Hebrews 8:8-13; Galatians 2:7-8, 3:7-14, 6:14-16; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Romans 10:8-13, 11:1-5; Ephesians 2:11-22)

The house of Israel is temporarily blinded to salvation through Christ Jesus, however, until the complete number of Gentiles are saved. Then, in like manner, the Lord will save those from among the 12 tribes of the house of Israel that trust in Christ. (Romans 11:1-26)

There are those that profess to be Jews belonging to Judah that in reality belong to Satan. These are among those that through the secular ideology of Zionism established the modern, secular Jewish state in 1948. (Revelation 2:9, 3:9; Romans 9:1-8)

For nearly 2000 years after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the birth of the New Testament church, the church maintained the belief that the Jews were exiled from the land of Israel for their rejection of Jesus Christ as God and Savior. The church believed that the Jews wouldn’t possess the land of Zion until they recognized the truth of Jesus Christ. The Zionist Revolution, not based upon the word of God, would change the church’s belief on this issue. Ungodly, apostate Jews who had forsaken Jewish orthodoxy and most of Judiasm were the leaders of modern Zionism. They were secular, intellectual revolutionaries who wanted to establish a prosperous, secular Jewish sate in which Jews could enjoy the freedom of advanced European democracies. (Dimont, Max I., The Indestructible Jews, The New American Library, N.Y., 1971, pg. 297.)

The founders of modern Zionism; communist rabbi Moses Hess, apostates Judah Pinsker, Peretz Smolenskin and Theodor Herzl. Herzl wrote The Jewish State and called a Zionist Congress in 1897 in Basel, Switzerland to begin the Zionist movement which led to the 1948 establishment of the modern, secular, Zionist state of Israel. (Dimont, Max I., The Indestructible Jews, The New American Library, N.Y., 1971, pg. 298-9.)

There will be a gathering of the house of Israel into Jerusalem for the purpose of God executing his wrath upon them. This prophecy may correspond to the modern gathering of Jews to Israel as a result of the secular Zionist movement. (Ezekiel 22)
In the context of that day in which the Lord will return, Micah 2-4 prophecies against greedy, unjust, unrighteous political leaders of Israel who hate good, love evil and build Zion through sinful, violent bloodshed. Ezekiel 7 proclaims God’s word against political leadership guilty of bloody, violent crimes. The prophecy from Micah speaks against greedy, false religious leaders and teachers who abuse those that don’t confidently support their false visions of peace. Following God’s judgment upon Zion for this idolatry and sin, the Lord gathers his scattered remnant as he returns in judgment upon the false Jews, the secular Zionist heathen (Micah 4:11-13), to reign as King in Jerusalem. The biblical promise of the remnant inheriting the land isn’t fulfilled until after the Gentile powers are destroyed at the Lord’s return. (Genesis 22:17, 24:60, 35:15, 49:10; 1 Chronicles 16:35; Isaiah 1:9, 6:13, 10:21, 14:1; Isaiah 11:10-12:6; Isaiah 25:7-26:4; Isaiah 30:19-26; Isaiah 35; Jeremiah 31; Ezekiel 11:14-21; Hosea 1:6-11; Zephaniah 3; Zechariah 8; Zechariah 12-14; MalachI 3:15-4:6; Romans 9:24-27, 11:5, 23-29)

Prophets spoke against the corrupt policies and practices of the nation of Israel. (Ezekiel 3:16-21; 6-9; 11:1-12; 14-16; 20-22; 24) False prophets didn’t speak against the corrupt policies and practices of the nation of Israel. (Ezekiel 13; Zephaniah 3:1-4; Zechariah 13:1-6)

Supporting Israel doesn’t mean unconditional support of the foreign policy and Christian Dominionist ideology of the Zionist movement controlling the modern secular state of Israel. (Hosea 1:6-11; Zechariah 4:6)

A curse isn’t placed by God upon those that fail to support the foreign policy of the Zionist state of Zionist Israel. Rebuke can be a blessing. (Psalm 141:5)

Anti-Semitism can be a slanderous, false accusation leveled against those that love the Lord and the nation of Israel enough to warn Israel and the Jewish people of their sin on behalf of the Lord. (Amos 7:10-17)
